John Simon's, 58, Toyota Tacoma swerved over the double yellow lines and into an oncoming 18-wheeler after authorites believed he had a heart attack. Simon was rushed to the hospital where he is in critical condition.

Early Wednesday, December 05, 2007, a semi-truck ran into the back of a school bus of students on their way to Rio Grande City High School. The acccident happened after the school bus stopped at a railroad crossing.

The Texas Department of Transportation were about to reopen the northbound lanes of IH-35E when an 18-wheeler ran into a guardrail. The Department of Transportation had originally shutdown the lanes due to a semi-truck hauling construction equipment caused damage to that stretch of 35E back in October.

The Texas Department of Transportation will shut down two northbound right lanes of 35E for six and half hours beginning Monday and finishing Wednesday. The cause for the closure happened back in October when an 18-wheeler carrying construction equipment damaged parts of the bridge.
